    Good day,

Can i get some opinions on which company to choose for as a domain registrar.

Are some better than others? Some to avoid?

    thanks

    I personally use name namecheap.

I think they are excellent. I really like their simple interface.

Namecheap may be $1-3 higher than the cheapest registrars, but their Customer Support is EXCELLENT!

NameCheap's new domain registration coupon for June is SUMMERTIME. (Domain price After Discount of $1: $8.81)

I second the recommendation for NameCheap. Moniker is also a good (and cheap) registrar.

    I recommend Godaddy :)

They are fast and secure :)

Also if you want to sell domains you should know that Godaddy has a lot of clients and you won't have to pay the transfer fee :)

    Regards

Godaddy has done a good job marketing their company (hot chicks! wow...so original!) but i don't know if that necessarily makes them a good vendor.
For example i wonder how many people read the fine print (usu. most people dont read this legalese) of the DomainbyProxy agreement (GoDaddy privacy domain company). Obviously most people dont want their WHOIS info public but by getting their privacy registration service you also relinquish ownership of your domain to DomainbyProxy (which is complete bulls***)
All they do is give you rights to sell, cancel or transfer ownership of your domain but in a legal realm if push came to shove, whats to stop them from poaching your domain and holding it hostage..NADA!!! and you wont be able to do sh** about it!

If you mean free whois privacy, then NO. Name.com have change their whois privacy price to $1.99/year now.

But you still can get free whois privacy for the first year by using this promo code : FREEWHOIS

I use godaddy... Don't see the problem with public whois...why not give your customers or potential buyers an extra way of contacting you? Just enter generic information.
