Recommendations for a file hosting site?

    I am thinking of starting a file hosting service. Id like to know really what would be the best way to go server wise and if theres any specific companies you would recommend.

    Exactly but you misunderstood my question, I want to do a competitor to these sites and im asking about what would be good for a start server wise.

    I would say you need a strong server as the "main server" with perhaps 2GB memory and then all the other servers you add to the server cluster can be with a weaker cpu and 1GB of memory. Don't forget to add plenty of harddrive space!

    Depends on the way U gonna opereate.IF ur gonna be PAY for hosting U need to get very powerfull HARDWARE if not then not so powerfull will be sufficient
