Hello, I need to find a reliable and robust streaming audio hosting service for a friend. I decided to ask you guys for your experiences. I want to keep the costs low, but quality and reliability is the first requirement. i.e. I'm looking for "hostgator" of streaming hosting. I've not decided on the format yet, so ideas about both shoutcast and Windows media are greatly appreciated. Please share your hosting company, how long have you been with them and your overall experience (downtimes , ease of use etc) Thanks in advance.
If you are looking at streaming audio or using shoutcast, you are going to want to look at a dedicated solution, not shared hosting. Not sure what your budget is, but I would keep that in mind in your search.
well shared hosting would be great if I can find a reliable company. But if not, I'll have to go for more expensive solutions

You should look for centovacast hosting. Centovacast is a control panel for streaming audio hosting. Works really well. If you have high needs, you may want to get a VPS and run centovacast on your own VPS or server. But just starting out, look for someone offering centovacast as a shared hosting package.
