So we just lost Cable in our building this week, and my internet connection is no more. Instead of continuing to power walk between coffee shops after they kick me out, I think I'm going to go ahead and get some kind of wireless solution. I'm wondering if anyone has any good experience with a certain product or company? The main things I'm interested in are coverage and reliability. A good price would be nice, too. I've been seeing alot of commercials for Sprint Wireless Broadband, but it looks like they want you to sign a 2 year contract, which I MIGHT do, but would really rather not. T-mobile offeres access at alot of places, but none right near my house. Anybody have a good solution here? I live downtown in a big city, so I feel like I should be able to find something decent.
I know this doesnt offer much relevance to your scenario, but wireless is very shit for me here in Sydney, Aust. I definately wouldnt be signing no 2 year contract for a wireless provider, I'm very unimpressed with the technology so far, although im unsure how different the providers are in the US.
You could try Sprint's thing, which I doubt works that well, but just make sure that they'll allow you to cancel in the first two weeks or whatever if it doesn't work out. Verizon also has something similar that you can look at, as well.
