    Hello,

I'd like to make a recommendation that people with >-3 iTrader receive a permanent or at least long temporary ban. I was recently scammed by a member, buxter.com, and I know DP doesn't get involved in member disputes but he looks to have scammed 8-10 people by buying their eBooks using a stolen paypal account and charging back. So far one other member and I have given him -iTraders and I expect more to follow.

My recommendation is that once a member has an iTrader -3 or lower, that he/she receive a ban, as it is fairly obvious they are scamming people.

    Cheers,

    Reid

It can be easy to sabotage others with a -ve 3 itrader. I don't think it will be fair. It certainly won't be obvious that they are scamming others just because they have -3 itrader. It can be the scammer giving the -ve itrader to the victim. If this rule is applied, there may be others trying to get honest members banned by giving them -ve itrader for next to nothing.

Right now i have a 71 iTrader. I have 2 negs from some stupid kid harassing me with false iTraders (notice the comment "bad reviewer"), he is now banned.

What I'm saying is that when you're average iTrader (ie mine is 71), goes to -3 or below, then you receive a temp ban.

If you made that though, you would have some random who doesn't like X user sign up and leave 3 neg ITrader for an auto ban.... It just wouldn't be practical ;)

I think some spammers/phishers did give Crazy Rob one or two -ve Itraders, if another scammer comes along and give him another -ve, does he need to ban himself? Itrader is not absolute, it is just another means of ascertaining if the person is trustworthy or otherwise.

Basically you need to look at the whole picture, his posts, how long has he been in the forum and so on. By itself Itrader means nothing. It does not take a genius scammer to get a few of his kind to give each other enough Itrader to cheat. Neither will it prevent innocent members being -ve by those seeking revenge to get them banned.

Hi, I'm new here but from the looks of it, if there's a system to auto-ban someone for having -3 iTrader. This may leads to forming of groups/cliques whose purpose is basically gamed the system and give other member negative iTrader to ban whoever might oppose the group...

    Just my thought =P.

Oh, I forgot to give you an example. Basically, you could auto-ban me if you just tell 2 other friends of yours to give me negative iTrader ;).

    i agree with justaddarticles,
its really a terrible idea, i believe if you have -1 itrader, you have to be really stupid to continue to trade with them.

It wouldn't work. If the idea was enabled to automatically ban someone with -3 itraders it would take about five minutes for someone to work out a quick way to ban all the mods just for a laugh. ;)
