Anyone use a graphics tablet out there? Any recommendations :)
Thinking about getting one but not sure if it'd be worth it. I do a lot of design work.
    Thanks
    :)

Wacom tablets are the best ones, but also quite expensive. I have a Genius - a cheap one, but I recently purchased a new Wacom Intuos3 9x11 for advanced design work - I need it for sketching, as I'm an industrial design student.

I would say it depends on how professional work you need it for - maybe you will be fine with a Genius, these are not bad too.

However, I don't use tablet for graphic design (logo design, web design), I'm fine with mouse for this work.

I used to have a Wacom tablet, but i sold it off to get some quick money cause i never used it. It's handy, and I'd like another one sometime, but wacom is expensive (but good quality) and I dont want to lock into them again if there is a just as good but cheaper alternative. I had the 6x11 sized one. That was a good size to have, not to big but not to small. Let me know if you find a better alternative

    Check out the Wacom Cintiq.

It's pricey but if you're really serious about design work, it's a great tool to have. I use the 21.3" version and I couldn't imagine going back to using a mouse.

I use a huge Wacom, but it barely fits on my desk. get something that fits nicely on your desktop :)

I use a Wacom Sapphire. I think it is about 6X8 which I have never had any problems with (working Flash). This pad has also lasted me about 2-3years. I wouldn't waste too much money on something too big. Then again, I wouldn't go any smaller than 6X8...

How about buying a wacom on Ebay? It might break, then there's no insurance. that's my only problem with buying a wacom

I've got an old Wacom Graphire and love it.
Another vote for Wacom here :) even their cheapest and smallest tablets are great.

our team use wacom intuos 3 though we really dream of having a cintiq someday...:D...you can go to wacom's website and there's a link there where they will recommend you what wacom tablet fits your need. All you have to do is to answer a few questions and they will tell you exactly what do you need to use...of course it's not really that accurate but it will help you make your decision... :)
