I was advertising my website with Yahho and Google ppc's, but over the time, the cost of advertising started to eat up a larger portion of earnings. Is there any other reliable, but more reasonably-priced ppc out there?
Try theme-based ppc like Trevolta.com or Kanoodle.com. Trevolta, for example is significanly cheaper and it lets you define in what context your ad can and cannot appear, which helps filtering traffic. Kanoodle seems to show your ads on more relevant websites, too.
There is no ad network more effective than Adwords so why would you move? Right now you're paying a high cost per click but you're getting very targeted ads. If you move to another network you'll get low cost per click but low targeted ads. If you net it out, you won't be gaining much since you're sacrificing relevancy for cost. I suggest you tweak your Adwords campaign for better results. You'll be surprised what a little tweaking can do for your CTR and CPC.
I'm with oalhajja here. None of the other networks has ever done anything for me and I've tried them all. I managed a break-even campaign on FindWhat, but Kanoodle, Search123, SearchFeed and the rest were riddled with click fraud. That's because they use affiliates who get paid for every click sent through their network. So you get affiliates and their bots clicking away to earn their measly 1-2 cents per click. I'm telling you, we were seeing up to 90% fraud on these other networks. If you can't get it to work on AdWords and Overture, you're not going to get it to work on any of the other ones. It takes just as much time to manage 1,000 keywords on Kanoodle as it does on Google for less than 5% of the traffic. Keep tinkering and wait for MSN's PPC engine later this year or early next.
You could try Exoclick (very good review article). I know they are reasonably priced from an advertisers point of view. Also handy from a publishers point of view because their attractive thumbnail image ads can be run alongside competing services to add an extra revenue source.
ExoClick looks pretty neat, I'll have to give them a try soon. Gotta be better than Brainfox and the others.
Obviously a good question from 2 years ago. I've tried Miva. You have to watch your money very closeley, because clicks go very fast. Be targeted, too.
There's absolutely NO WAY I would have bumped a 2 year old thread - I certainly wouldn't go scouring 50 or 60 pages back in the forum archive! I think what has happened is this user, who bumped several old threads at around the same time as I made this post, also bumped this thread but his post has been deleted.
