I just wanted to let people know that I am on the verge of getting all my bank charges back over the last 6 years, a total of £680. It is a slow process but if you know what your doing you can't fail. I know this has been in the media a lot recently, but I just wanted to let people know that with patience you will get all your charges back, a friend of mine just received £5,000 from barclays. Anyone else had any success? Paul
Paul, I'm about to embark on this process with RBS. I hope I'm as successful because my bank charges over the last few years would pay for a nice holiday right about now!
I am really unaware of the idea you are representing, my bank deducate bank charges of $5.25 on every foreign currency check I deposit and I don't think if they can be reclaimed or refunded. Can you explain your idea little more?
I'm in the process of claiming a small fortune back from The Woolwich - they are going to return £23 for every unauthorised overdraft fee they have ever charged me
Firstly can I say that I forgot that we get people from the far reaches of the planet here. This is just a U.K thing as far as I know, basically all charges the banks have been charging are unlawfull and millions of people are claiming them back. There is no hope about it, I go on a forum (not sure if I can post here) and they tell you what to do step by step, DON'T take any notice of what the bank says or timescales they produce. They said that my statements would take another 8 weeks to arrive, one template letter downloaded from the site and hey presto, two days leter they arrived. As long as you do what they tell you then you CAN'T fail. The banks will try and slow you down or try and bluff you, they hope you get fed up and go away. Anyway there are a few forums out there to help you step by step, I really could not have done it without them, everything they said the banks would do or say happened and everything thing they told me to do or say worked also. Good luck with everyone who is claiming, I am about 2 weeks away from getting mine, just in time for my holiday.
Could someone please refer to websites with coverage of this "bank scandal"? I'm guessing this has to do with the UK and their membership of the EU... but I haven't got a clue as to what is going on, so please inform and point us to authority websites. /miko67
Wonder how the banks will hit you back, you don't think they'll just lose millions happily do you? Reduced interest rates, not sure on your country laws but I'm sure they will do something. Possibly less services, customer support, it'll come somewhere.
They earn enough don't worry. They actually started threatening people with closure of accounts at first, but they can now get fined for this, plus it will hit them as much as the person claiming. I could not give two hoots about them. They once charged me £30 for going overdrawn by £1 and then charged me another £30 as the charge they took out took me overdrawn again...So I can't wait to get all mine back.
LOL - I just did now... spent half an hour reading. Man, those British banks are aggressive when it comes to charging "service fees". Very recommendable concept. /miko67
