I belive that refers to 1 page, with no content, just a page on some site (usually a free hosted site) that contains backlinks required to get recip exchanges.

If someone tries to use a random page with a backlinks on some other site to get a recip in my directory, then it gets removed. I don't mind the recip coming from a different site, but it's not gonna be a spammy recip page.

The vast majority of successful sites online have reciprocal link pages. If you are a member of Web Pro world you may have got the email the other day about the debate on recip links.

The reality is, how else are people going to travel to sites other than links? It is impossible for Google to lablel them spam, sense recip links predate Google.

It's spam in my book when it's filled with hundreds of links on an unformatted page, with no inbound links. With that said, if it's a quality page with some PR than providing an alternate reciprocal page is ok. Notice, theirs a difference between an alternate url for providing reciprocals and a links page on geocities.

Tell you what, if you try to get a quality link out of me with a spammy reciprocal page then I'm gonna tell you to hit the bricks.
