Reciprocal Links

Can any of the members share their views on reciprical link exchange. Doing it manually takes an age, is it better to use a software to do this such as Arelis? If software is the best way to do it which is the best one?

I was thinking of doing it manually to get going and adding a link exchange script to my web site. Any thoughts of the best road to go with this?

I hate Arelis links. They use whatever it finds, then send mail to request links back. Few get a response from me.

I use a script to collect the info and allow searchability. Some will save the info on where the link to you is with the data, and give you a admin interface. All of that is off limits for robots. The main page gives me a place to handle my own additions as well as allow visitors to submit, search, and browse. For categories, I view the source output and cut out the links, then paste them into the page. Saves ages.

Thank you for that. I think you are right. I remember purchasing Link Explore software over a year ago and the replies were about 10%. I have seen a few scripts but none that search for link partners, which one do you use?

I do not favour reciprocal link-exchange at all.

Exchanges yeah. But not reciprocal :)

You klink to my site, i link to you , but not to the same site, that you linked to me :)

I don't use one that searches for partners, I use search engines for that, particularly the link: function for a related site.

Good internal linking is what I look for in sites I want linked from - no more than 3 clicks to the page with my link. I generally do not count the sitemap page as one click. I want to see a link to a index of all link pages (or categories if they are not multiple pages inside). I don't do enough to find them on my own, though.

My tracking is done manually, but I really only kick those who are blatant or change significantly, like moving to a php script with redirects. If they were good enough to add as a 'resource' for my visitors, it is good enough to leave there should I get dropped by accident or something. Running AdSense makes the decision to leave them easier - the link and description are content.

You can use my free link partners search tool to find link partners based on the keywords you type.

I use a mix of software and manual methods for link trading I even use linkbuilders in india each one has it drawbacks so I use them all.

    some software I've used:

    SEOElite
    Zeus
    Arelis
Linksmanager (linkpartners.com for finding link traders)

But sometimes you just have to do the time and even pick up the phone sometimes to get a good link. People on page 3+ of SERPs are usually alot more hungry to exchange links then the people already on the front page.
