Reciprocal links, without reciprocal penalty

I think there's a way to get through this, but a evil and egoisic one. Have anyone tried to write nofollow follow in outgoing href tags? Any positive out come when it comes to reciprocal linking?

 

I read on www.savemoneyfast.com website that they will soon release a server-side cgi script that will remove the outbound link penalty the search engines place upon websites. That should also remove the reciprical-link penalty

 

Putting nofollow is cheating - you wouldn't want others to do that with your links would you?

I agree with gdymov.

Proposing a link exchange and then adding a no-follow on your outgoing link seems like a short term approach. It's deceiving the other party.

I don't really think there is a penalty for linking to other sites. Would bring the web in a catch 22.

Google thinks non-relevant reciprical links are spam. We can expect Google to work to reduce or eliminate their value.

yes, recips may be devalued, but concerning that non-relevant outlinks are considered spammy i'm not sure, don't think so.

 

There are an awful lot of reasons for a non-relevant link, from paid advertising to your daughters school project. Still I guess those things would not be helpful for someome searching for the topic of your site.

But I detect a real dislike on Google's part of rec. links and paid links. Those things are done just to affect search rankings and that is a major sin in Google's eyes.

I think is may work but that is not fair. It would fair if you and your partner do the same thing. You use nofollow tag for your outbound link to your partner then your partner do the same thing. That is called "fair". You said yourself that your partner should happy because get traffics not link value, ok, got the same thing.

 

What behooves me to wonder is how it is that I can do a search on a keyphrase in Google and check for how many inbound links are going to each of the pages indexed on the first page of results returned and one page may have thousands and another may have only 2 or 3 or none at all. Seriously! What are we to make of that? This was originally pointed out to me by a salesman for a service called BuildTraffic to demonstrate his point that links really don't mean anything in terms of achieving a top placement and I find it hard to argue with his evidence. Try it some time. Do a random search and see how many Google-indexed inbound links a site has by entering link: before the site's URL. Am I missing something here or can someone otherwise explain the hoopla over links or where I'm missing the boat? Thanks for any input on this.
