With regards to reciprocal links in diretories such as linkpartners, If I have 2 websites, one is for their reciprocal link and the other is for their site to point to me, is this ok? I am aware of three way linking, but is it ok to do it with linkpartners etc.. thus creating a one way link?

Gazzerman this is ok but all directories have there different structure of reciprocal. Some take link form only home page someone take Pr+ linkpages.

1 way link is still the best option. But reciprocal linking isn't bad at all. But be careful because according to Matt Cutts(Google Engineer) reciprocal linking are being penalized by Google.

Cheers, so as I said if I reciprocate the link from another site, this will be seen as a one way link for both sites. This should then be the best option as my main site will not be seen as recipricating.

Just trying to capatalize on more links, done the one way links to death for my niche :)

well i think you should have to inform your exchage link partners so that they will know where their link are..

Here is an example of a linkpartners site w w w .gillroys.com/link/add_link.html there is a field there called "URL where your site reciprocates"

So if I were to reciprocate their link form another domain A and get them to link to Domain B That should be ok?

Hi guys, how about this scenario, someone ask me to have link exchange with his site, the deal is he will place a link to my site from his site relevant to mine but he ask me to give a link to his site that is not relevant to mine! I am after quality link building but do I maintain it when i agree with this scenario?

    Thanks in advance!

I think what you have described is called 3 way linking.

Yes it is a three way linking...by doing it that will look like you don't reciprocate and it'll be seen as a one way link by SEs...

I have heard that se's can detect 3-way links and that this type of exchange does not fool them into thinking these are one-way links. Not sure if that is an accurate assumption or not. Any thoughts?

Well, don't know what's exactly happening inside SEs' datacenters, and haven't even seen SEs' full algorithms ;), but in practice both reciprocal and three-way links still work perfectly for me

3 way linking doesn't work! That is if you want to trick Google to count this as one way linking.

Most of the sites I hv come across while collecting the links asking for links from the home page or resource page of the sites only. Only very few are agreeable to get their links in any of the other groupsites. However, if the reciprocal links are the relevant one I dont think google will penalise. Generally the bots hate the links which are not even remotely relevant.

Nope Gazzerman, there isn't any probs with that but you should not be overdoing the same practice else that will create probs.

btw, luvlyn if you are after maintaining quality link building then avoid that request.

All directories i've found so far didn't allow me to add their link on a site other than the one i was submitting ..main reason for this is that this is a way of protecting themselves from spam .It should work if you email the directory owner and explain your request.
