i was thinking about starting a link building campaign. if i get links for my site www.site.com and offer links to others from link.site.com will it be considered as reciprocal or one way link ? www.site.com and link.site.com are both on different C class ip thanks
If I got it right, what you are talking about is three-way linking. From what I learned, three-ways are much harder for the search engines to spot than plain link exchange, so I think the answer is (b) -- most of the time, they'll think these are one-way links. Anyway, I'd also make sure the links are relevant and appear in some good organic context. Warkot
thanks warkot, i am also of the view that these should be considered as three way links and not reciprocals as both are from different URLs, but i was not much sure as the main domain was the same.
I believe the domain does have a part to play, as it is the PR of the toplevel domain that determines the strength of a link, this shows that Google can tell they are related.
They all work to an extent. However, relevency is key. If you are selling car tires and a website that sells teddy bears is linking to you.....well, you know. It's not relevant. It's good to mix it up. One way links are much better (but vary the anchor text to make it look natural) than recipricol links. The three way link exchange probably works but it's too hard to manage. Just my opinion.
Ya it will be viewed as one way link as search engines consider sub domains as full domain names. A lot of people are doing that and it is also working for them. Akash Kumar
am of the same view as you are i have started with the campaign, will let you know the results after 2 months
