i am confused about reciprocal links. some say they are bad as search engines see as negative. but when i use back link checker mostly all sites are using them for page rank. What do you think Search engines think of them
As per the Google - Excessive link exchanging ("Link to me and I'll link to you") will be consider as link scheme.
People are confusing and if you do what ever they say you will lose it, as for me, these links really helped my site a lot and that is why I can't believe with anyone who talks bad against them. Do what is giving you results on your site and no harm in these links.
My seo guy has said the same thing. To not have reciprocal links unless your linking to a great site about information related to your industry or product.

Reciprocal Link exchanges have lost their reputation but I still don't think it is completely banned by Google. Two good and high quality sites can still exchange links with each other and there will be no question of Black hat here.
