Are food recipes found in a cookbook copyrighted? Could I use a recipe to post on my blog and not get in a legal situation with it? I'm planning on running a new series of articles with recipes that are healthy. Would it even be appropriate to give someone credit for a recipe? Seems kind of silly, since there are probably many people that came up with the recipe, but I could be wrong? If the answer is yes, I do need to give credit, then how would I do it? Just post a sentence at the end announcing the source? Anyone here have any valid information bout recipe copyrights? Thanks ahead of time.
acroding to whats posted at http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=92410 (are Recipes Copyrighted ?)
Food copyrighted? lol Can't eat without paying royalties. Oxygen is copyrighted too. Can't breathe air thanks to Oprah!
According to this, mere listings of ingredients or contents are not protected by copyright. However, the way in which each step of the recipe is expressed is protected by copyright, I think.
What's the fuss about credit? I've used info like that and stated just before " An excerpt from xxzxc, at dsfd.info, or whatever. Give credit where it's due. Give them a link too.
