It's a pity that around 67% of the world's educated youths are unemployed, while no less than one third of that number are at the risk of being exploited for various reasons. I must say, UN was spot on with its findings. Regards, Deb
Wow, its been a while since I have been back to DP, but have the standards really sunk this low. He wants the recipe, video and photos for $1.50? Am I reading this correctly?
Unfortunately, we're still hounded by these greedy people who want the world on a plate in return for next to nothing. Not only does he want a recipe, video and photos, but it's got to be 100% correct grammar, able to pass copyscape, posted directly onto his Wordpress site, no upfront payment available and he has the cheek to say that if you don't follow his instructions, 'we do not want to work with you'. Yes, we don't want to work with you either. - All the writers on DP.
Plenty of people who will work for this rate, keep on moaning guys! Have a nice day. Taking more applicants, send a PM and get started! Be sure to send a sample of a recipe you wrote along to get considered.
No surprise here. Just like any other "Buying" threads, you'll sure be flooded with PM's but be sure to expect the kind of quality that you will get with what you are offering! Good luck!
At the turn of the new millennium, a small town teenager (couple of months short of attaining the voting rights) had moved to one of the Indian metros to study engineering. He had to maintain a long-distance relationship with his the then girlfriend (who is now the mother of his daughter aged 3.5). During those days, cell phone was a rather unknown entity in India and the couple had to rely on public telephone booths to converse for few minutes on a daily basis. Long distance calls were anything but inexpensive and our guy was struggling to a great extent to accomodate the expenditure within the monthly budget that he was entitled to receive from his parents. Cutting the long story short, he had no other alternative but to look for a part-time job and managed to grab a data-entry work from a local vendor. The task was pretty straight-forward. From a word document, he had to pick up the required data points and enter them in an excel file having 8-10 column headings. He was entitled to get INR 200 (around $4 in 2002) for completing 1000 rows of data i.e., around 1000x8=8000 data points. After the college hours, he had to rush to his office and work for 5/6 hours at-a-stretch to complete his daily quota. The work provider used to pay him on a daily basis. He was no less than ecstatic to get those INR 200 after a hectic day's work. That's the end of the story. Now a few questions to ponder about - 1. Did the work provider forced the guy to work for him? The answe is - NO. 2. Was the guy getting a deserved compensation for his efforts? Again, a big NO. 3. Did the guy realize that he was being exploited? Most definitely, YES. 4. Then why the hell did he accept the work? Because he had no other way out. Conclusion: 1. There will always be plenty of individuals who would be victimized by the situation to accept work with undeserved remuneration. 2. Quite similarly, there would be no dearth of individuals who would knowingly keep on exploiting others' struggles for survival and pretend as if it was an act of doing favor. Before anyone casts a shadow of doubt on the authenticity of this story, let me tell you that our hero of the story was none other than 'yours truly'. And there will always be thousands of 'Debs' who would be willing to let themselves be exploited in order to earn a modest living. So it's hardly a surprise that you are getting 'plenty of people who will work for this rate'. While it's true that you are not 'forcing' them to work for an undeserved compensation, but you can't deny the fact that they are being 'forced' to accept such offers to continue their struggle for existence. Do they deserve to be treated in such a fashion? Your guess is as good as mine. Regards, Deb PS: Before you express your concern over the time wasted in drafting such a long reply, let me tell you that such posts eventually help me to get new clients; - because there are people who don't 'spend' but rather 'invest' on content.
That is one touching story @debapriya deb ! It's sad that DP's content creation section is now populated with sub par offers to think that it has a lot of talented writers. And when these writers put up a sales thread they will be flooded with PM's offering a lower rates for "bulk" orders. The thing with content is that you can't mass produce the contents they are asking for.
dude zrsly? need a tissue? something is only a sob story if you let it be one work hard & smart there is no substitute for discipline and intelligence paying more out of frickin pity or sympathy is not profitable nor in my book of business ethics
