I plan to make several niche sites and have them rank high. I am new to SEO and I just kind of wanted to write up a preliminary estimate of the possible process. Here it is. 1.) Do keyword research. Find a term that is less than 100k, 500k, 1m, etc. . Use programs to find high KEI if needed and preferred. Basically, find a niche that is in high demand and has little supply. 2.) Create website and load it with TONS of content. Submit sitemap. Get site indexed. 3.) Find out key terms you wish to rank for. DO this via keyword research. Then do link biulding and use these links as anchor text. Get many directory submissions. This will boost the ranking in the rather small, rather uncompetitive niche. 4.) Use statcounter to view what keywords are bringing you traffic. These are likely already on teh top 10 in the SERP. Create anchor text inbound links to increase the rankings of these keywords. This brings in more traffic. 5.) Wait a long time, keep biulding links, watch more traffic come in. Target more long tails and create more anchor text to get ranked higher for the longer tails. I am very new to all of this, and that (above) is all I know. I asked another question in another thread about finding out ALL the terms that I can rank for. I realize this could be a massive number, but is there a way that I can see all the phrases within the top 100 in the SERPs that I am getting ranked for? Then I can create more anchor text inbound links to those terms? Thanks
"Get many directory submissions." Good luck with that. Google has devalued 99% of them so they carry very little or no weight. You are going to need a lot of quality relevant one-way links. Your content should be unique and high quality. You might want to consider starting one site to begin with. It can easily take over a year to start getting good results for competitive keywords - and that is if you know what you are doing.
Additions to my original post: 1.) Start PPC campaign and see what terms convert, then create one-ways for those terms. 2.) Fire off a press release, publish articles, etc. Phinelinda, I dont understand your euphemism.
