Having the unemployment rate at 5 percent is not a recession.

The net won't go out of business because the overhead is low. However, as the economy slows the money flow into the web will decrease.

For PPC websites the barrier is language. Most likely a lot of the outsourcing is being done in the Czech republic, Poland, Romania etc for the German market. Within the EU there are 100 million german speakers so there has to be some good revenure.

The .3 percent increase is the unemployment rate is a siginal that the economy is heading into a recession. "Since 1949 the unemployment rate has never risen by this magnitude without the economy being in recession,'' John Ryding, chief U.S. economist at Bear Stearns Cos. in New York"

    Bogart, I'm thinking bigger.

With a falling domestic demand, prices will also drop. You'll see more foreign webmasters particularly in Europe using American webmaster services, and American hosting. For them, the value will be good, because their dollar (euro etc.) will go further buying American.

You'll see American e-commerce business begin selling overseas, either shipping direct or drop-shipping from international affiliates.

I have a lot of faith and confidence in the creativity and entrepreneurship of the American capitalist.

There's a lot of road blocks in doing e-commerce with the EU. The VAT tax is a big issue and the EU has some discrimiitory rules regarding digitally delivered sales.

Non-EU firms are now required to pay tax on e-commerce transactions digitally delivered into Europe.

EU companies are no longer required to pay tax on digitally delivered sales occurring outside of Europe.

The tax rules for non-EU companies apply to the supply over electronic networks(i.e., digital delivery) of software and computer services generally, plus information andcultural, artistic, sporting, scientific, educational, entertainment or similarservices as well as broadcasting services. Examples include Web-hosting, sales ofdownloadable software and upgrades, the sale of electronic books, streaming music, digital movies, computer games, and distance-learning services.

Yes, it's all a fabrication that people are losing their houses, the dollar is dropping on the FOREX market and oil is $100 a barrel.

Let's pretend that is not happening. Like's call it "made up".

I'll admit, it is probably not as nice as Albania, but there are no $10k homes around here.. If you traveled more you might know that... ;)

But hey, we are in this huge recession, so it won't be long before every house is only $10k...

It's always so impressive how you seek to follow me with your banter and attacks from thread to thread... Go do something worthwhile and productive with the day, I really do not need you sniffing around my rear every time I post. It's flattering, but I don't swing the bat that way..

You are getting a taste of your own medicine. You can follow RP supporters around and bash them but we can't follow you around and expose your BS and low level of intellect? Nice try!

I don't live in the country or in Geneva, Linn, etc.. These are mobile home links... Try http://www.keeferealestate.com/lakemaps/ and Lake Geneva... Your geography is terrible..

Again, what does this have to do with this thread? Are you that bored you have to demean everyone that you disagree with?

Oh wait, you mean I'm doing to you what you do on a daily basis to other members in this forum? Bring them down, call them names, resort to personal attacks, bash their candidates, bash their countries, their race, religion and what they might believe in? Mia you might think highly of yourself, but you're a lightweight M8!
Funny when you sense that you can't win a debate you skirt the issue. Now go find a warm corner in your macmansion and cry for your piece of junk that's worth 10X less than my oceanfront place. :p

I think we are in middle ground here.
Many companies we deal with will react to a recession by trying to get abigger slice of the sales pie.
As we all know the internet is the cheapest form of marketing.
    Turn disadvantage into an advantage.
If there is a recession my sales will go up becuase it is the companies that I serve that need to get smarter and more efficient... more work for me.
Many people will loose out. But many people make their fortune during a recession.
It turns situations on their heads
