I am recently out of work, but I want to start a website on the side and am considering creating a directory. I want to know about some of the more unique examples of directories because I don't want to make a "cookie cutter" like everyone else. I'm looking for advice on where to start.
So I assume you will want to keep startup costs low. For example, maybe you can find inexpensive hosting and a domain name. Then I think a directory might be an excellent way to make at least some extra revenue in between looking for a job. If you can find a good niche, that would be good. For example, maybe you could make something about your local area, or something related to what your hobbies.
Oh, and I see you are in Ohio. I know the job market is tough right now, and I hope you'll be able to find the right job, and hopefully make some spare money on the internet as well.
I like your approach of not creating a "cookie cutter" directory. I recommend creating one good directory rather than 50 bad ones.
It is sad news to learn that you are out work but what is truly great news but it is truly great to hear that you intent on making a web directory. Can you please provide more details?
