I think Google hit all sorts of sites, not just directories. Many blogs I own kept the same PR. Few directories lost their PR, but others kept the same. I noticed that though that there were not many PR5 + directories any more after the update. Has anyone seen directories that are still PR5 or more?
thiers a few still ... you will have to search for them is all as i wont list them here for obvious reasons that most editors here where targeted.. thx malcolm
Have 2 directories on Aviva strongest list. One was hitted, second is OK until now. I don't think the list could be a reason to hit. 1st directory - hitted: Very popular, heavily promoted not by paid links but rather by some useful stuff. Also having few sponsors links on homepage to well known directories resources (not so much) 2nd directory - not hitted: Less popular, not promoted so much, no sponsors links, some unique content, not pagerank oriented - rather as statistics service with offer similar to Yahoo. Now answer yourself as I have no easy answer for that.
So far out of my 50+ sites the only change has been to a mostly dormant website which went from PR3 to PR2. I have a feeling they are not done yet though. Unless they just ran a few thousand sites through a new algorithm for testing or something.
Got a nice red for my post! You can't control questions that get asked. By trying to do so is damaging to the directory industry. Nothing to stop you posting about positive things and new things you are doing with your directory.
