I've tried to find some information on this but haven't had any luck so far. I'm noticing that google is returning sites I visit a lot at the top of my search results, even when I'm not signed in to google. I've emptied my cache and deleted cookies, but it makes no difference. It does the same thing on ie and on firefox, but other computers on the same IP don't do this. I've heard google is doing this for people who're signed in to google, but this is the first I've seen of it doing it when not signed in. If anyone could point me to some sources where I can read up on this, I'd really appreciate it. I have tried searching, but without knowing what this new feature is called I haven't found anything. Thanks very much for any help.
Been like that for years with their Personalized Results if you are logged in with your Google account. Either log out, or purge your search history here (if you don't want to do it): http://www.google.com/history/
You don't have to be signed in to have 'personalised' results, now - http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2009/12/personalized-search-for-everyone.html - it's cookie based.
Just click the link on the top right saying, dont use personalized search and it goes back to normal order.
