Receiving money in India - No PAYPAL!

    Hey all,

I was wondering tht is there any other way of receving money from my online buyers other than paypal.

i basically design logos and desiging stuff so i get paid from 20$ to around 200$... and paypal is the option my buyers want.. but since i dont have a credit card i cant get a verified paypal account..

so i was considering wire transfer as an option for payment, but itz only good for large payment i.e., above 100$. For 20-30$'s wire transfer is not good cause my buyers bank charge then although itz free for me...

so is there any other way i can accept payment online.. and how much good is check and money order ... ?

    thankz

When I have to pay some of the people who work for me in India I use "cash2india.com" which is now part of xoom.com

Fees are annoying but the recipients like it because it transfers directly to their account in an indian bank.

    Hello Pratik
If you are not that serious about sticking the "online" word to payments.
You may try western union money transfer.
    more info at www.westernunion.com

    I hope it helps.

Indian Programmers Beware ... Donot I repeat DONOT ..... accept Payments via Xoom/cash2india/remit2india ...or even Western Union!
They donot process commercial transactions to India and if caught, you'll be in serious trouble for breaking the FEMA act.!
Gimme some time, will post a seperate thread regarding this!

Western Union is a trusted name ... but for India ...
it can be used only to send ... Gift or Donation according to the Indian law ...
Since it is not allowed to materialise commercial transactions to India ...

Yes you are right abhishek, when it comes to commercial transactions.
Its a one way route, only incoming is allowed.
and only Gift or donations are allowed ( according to my knowledge, need to ask the officials)

Yes you can use western union but its only good if you are sending at least $500. then its worth. otherwise their fee sucks! They will charge you $15 for $100 transaction...

No It is not about the fees,
The FEMA officials can ban you from providing any future service, if you donot go their way !
