Receiving a domain transfer with Godaddy

If a person has a domain name hosted on another registrar, and I have godaddy, and they transfer their domain name to me, do I have to pay anything to Godaddy if the domain name doesn't have to be renewed yet? Or do godaddy make you renew any domain name that is transferred to you? And is their any transfer fee I have to pay to receive the domain from another registrar?

GoDaddy will charge you for 1 year renewal - I am fairly sure that they give you an additional year free. The cost is around $7 if you use a coupon. Just search the forum for Goddady coupon to get one.

That is correct. No actual fee for the transfer

I believe they call it a transfer fee with a free 1 year renewal, but it's basically another 1 year renewal added on.
