Received spam email from DP?

Hi, I've just received what I believe is spam email entitled "Hey there, it's email4m from digital point" and later "Greetings member of Digital Point forum"

I can't believe for one moment that it is but it pisses me off that some maggot at DP has taken my email address and is sending me this crap.

i guess someone collected all of ours email ids, perhaps that's the reason why i get a lot of these emails, but then after all it's our fault, we have posted our email ids here

You can disable the option to contact via email in your userCP.

Just checked my inbox and I have one yes, damn spammers.

 

if you disable the 'download vcard' setting from your usercp then your email address won't be visible to anyone...

they could still send you emails via 'send member email' via DP if they want (but you can disable that too)...

if you disable the vcard, it will mask your email as (or something similar)...still won't totally save you from spam...but it keeps people from getting your real address without asking.

 

This is great idea to stop those mails.

 

yup this has also been done before ,some one is colleting emails of dp members.

I received it too. I am pissed about it However it landed in the spam box in gmail. I think this cames through "enable others to send email" option in the user CP.

 

Mark it as spam and delete it.

nah i hardly get any spam..
its best to disable email for sure.
