    Lucid...

no, i don't expect an email from google about every last little thing and change to my account - but YES - if you are going to drop my ads, i expect some form of notice... especially if i did something wrong, i should have the opportunity, or window, to reassess and fix whatever issues may be upsetting their system.... that's only fair and normal in ANY business.

and as far as the content, well, what do they want?... if you've seen my site, you will see that it's deep enough to be considered a 'site' and not a page...
... if you've read any of the content - you could even argue that it is closer to an informative site than an affiliate site

Google says they are not completely disallowing affiliates, but this is becoming a contradiction to that.
If they are basing this on links on my landing page - how does this effect ALL OTHER SITES that have any other kind of links on their pages? ... this is sure to bring in some false positives on better sites and businesses than my own
... so, is it the AMOUNT of affiliate links on my landing page? I'll trim them down if need be.
... and as i mentioned earlier, i have since changed my links - no more affiliate id in the href - just a straight link to the parent company.

I know google has made a living off of being vague, but some things should be spelled out a little better.
(BTW - with all due respect, that dinner example was pretty bad... haha :)

so here's my next plan of attack, and please, tell me your honest opinion on this because now, i'm very unsure of what i am about to do, and i don't usually operate that way...

I am considering removing all outbound links to my parent company, creating a buy now page, and steering them to the site that way..... from what i am reading, this may be what their intended practice is supposed to be.

ok.. now, if i do that, i am worried that my organic climb will cease, and i will fall back - i am already up two more spots since my last post and being as i will rely heavily on my organic position, i am sketchy on altering what appears to be a good thing.... luckily, i built this site for seo and not so much for adwords... i was just hoping to get a read on things by using adwords, and sure enough, it started performing.

I'm looking for that perfect middle road - which i HAD - up until yesterday

I know. I couldn't think of a better analogy. But I think it showed the point I was trying to get across.

If you can direct a "buy now" button to your affiliate's, seems that would be the way to go. Link it directly to their own page as if I click on their buy now button, not their main sales page.

Frankly, and this is the part you have to understand, having a page where you promote a product only to click a link and be given another sales pitch makes not too much sense to me. Bad user experience. I think most IMs don't think about their customers. It is their customers as much as it is the affiliate's. It's not the amount of affiliate links that's your problem, it's the fact that you have at least one.

I don't see why your organic listing would fall back. I'm assuming you keep the page that got you there intact. You are just redirecting a buy now button to the affiliate's buy now page.

The other way of course is direct linking.

"Catch More Flies in Your Web"
...nice tag line, by the way

so... I spoke to my parent company
... supposedly they are working on taking care of things on their end right now to comply with Google's new standards

From what i have been told - it is their assumption that i have been pulled down for simply linking to their site, which is presently non-compliant and that once they get their new system in place (Friday) that i should be able to run my google ads again.

Makes sense, but i hope it's right... i guess i have no choice but to sit and wait
    What do you think?

Motelsex, I recognize your sig links from a post you made over at my affiliate forum.

I replied over there with some VERY important info for you, but I don't think you've read it yet.

In addition to the info you've posted about Adwords having a problem with affiliate bridge pages, they are also soon not going to allow CPA rebill offers which is what I assume your Acai offer is.

For rebills to run at all on Adwords the merchant/advertiser is going to have to make some BIG changes they aren't going to like including adding an opt-in approval box on the purchase page confirming that they agree to the rebill charges, which is going to seriously affect conversion rates.

Here's all the info and some commentary.
