Hi, I just received an Google AdSense DMCA complaint from someone regarding a site that I have purchased last oct. I have not made any changes to the site, everything on the site were from the previous owner. In the google DMCA complaint email, it mentioned about faxing in an "Counter Notification". I'm not going to contest it as it seems like 1 or more pages were copied out from the original site. Silly me as I did not check it before I buy it. What should I do ??? I have already removed the site. Counter notification means you want to contest/challenge the complaint, right ??? But I'm not going to contest/challenge it. What should I do ?? Please help me out ??? Thanks, Anthony
I think if you removed it, you are fine. If you hear from their lawyers, just tell them what you did and it should just all go away.
I know how to file a counter notification. But I'm not contesting it so I should not file one.... Just received a reply from google today and they want me to file a counter notification regardless I contest it or not. If I do not file it within 10 days they will terminate my account. What should I do?
A Counter Notification from what I read is a statement that you have removed the offending content so it is not an issue of contesting it. It is to say that you have done something to fix the issue. If you do not reply with it, it is to say that you do not care about the copyright infringment and thus Google has the rights to terminate your account Read point 3
Hi eddy2099, In section 2, i'm actually giving my consent to serve court proceeding if the plaintiff sue me..... Section 2 is also required for the counter notification. I'm not sure if I want to do this
