reCAPTCHA becomes tooooooo BAD :(

    Hello all,

Many webmasters all over the world use reCAPTCHA on their site to protect themselves from spammers.
The slogan of reCAPTCHA is very impressive: "stop spam, read books", and their words is meaningful as they are extracted from books.

But recently their CAPTCHA becomes tooooooooooo BAD: unreadable and MEANINGLESS.
I can't read their captcha properly, and it often takes me a lot of time to enter correct captcha code.

This is really waste of time.

    How do you think?

True, they are getting worst day by day :D
but to prevent spam we need to accept it.

Ok but it drives away real people too. You kill the spammers and real people at the same time!

Actually there is a refresh button. I use that if i cant read it. but i think recaptcha is good i think if 1 -2 letters are entered wrong it still accepts it..

And how many people that sign up on forums are spammers looking for a way to peddle their links or products without giving anything back to the communities?

If someone does want to post a comment on a site, blog or forum, they'll be persistant enough to try more than one time.

I don't like them either, and I find them hard to read too, but like someone else mentioned, hit the refresh button until it is readable, and you should be just fine.

recaptcha is a tool which I can rely on.
Its saving from tons of garbage bots which come and SPAM my forum.

When it comes to an unreadable image, I just click on the refresh button and the next image, which is clearer comes.

Yep. I had to click refresh about 1 -2 times before. Now I click the refresh button like crazy :D

The biggest problem is their words becomes bad and meaningless. I can't guess their words :(

Good thing is if you have 1000 posts here, there's no recaptcha for you :)

If you find ReCaptcha hard for your site users, you can try the newer generation jQuery based captchas like DragCaptcha

But ReCaptcha is still used by the majority.

I think a better way of eliminated spam needs to be invented, it really is a time consuming practise.

I never have nor never will implement such annoying features as hard to re captchas ever!

There are many alternative ways to eliminate spam, text based questions/sums etc are a good way, filtering out posts/whatever by words is another good way.

Why annoy people like spammers are annoying you?
