I rebuilt my site using Drupal. The content it mostly the same by which I mean there is a page like the old one on the new drupal page. However links have changed. Is there a script I can use which will keep and save my serp for a certain keyword and just redirect people to the page that is most similar in keywords to the old one?
did you 301 redirect all old pages to new ones ? you should do that... google have your old pages indexed and now gets 404 pages and that's probably why you lost serp
Lol. you should try to post in the htaccess section for help on how to do a general htaccess that will automaticaly do 301..... or as i dont know drupal, isnt their a module you can add ?
Unfortunately, when I had to do similar changes I had to go through 301 redirects but I did section by section and it took me ages. Some sort of tool/script would be nice there... try to get a programmer from this forum as there're a few decent ones I used for other tasks.
The backlinks are pointing towards the old urls so its logical you lost your ranking because you are using a totally new url structure. As stated above you should fix this with 301 redirects but you shouldnt wait to long with this.. Try at least to redirect the most important and populair pages..
