Hope someone can help here. We took over a website in September last year which has been heavily optimised and performs very well on Google for some very broad computer based terms. Visits to the site have increased since we took over even though the site has completely changed platform (PHP OS Commerce to our own custom .Net site), however Yahoo rankings have been none existent ever since we have had the site (before any changes). The site comes up for a search of the domain name and about 3 pages of other pages are listed but it doesn't come up at all for any of the broad terms that perform on Google. Can anyone offer any advice as what may have happened or how I could find out what has happened in the past to cause this?
i think its because of their bots.. i think the crawling and indexing of yahoo is slower unlike goolge..
Same thing here. I rank very good in google for the keywords or keyphrases I'm interessed in but on yahoo the rank is very bad. I don't understand their algorithms. Anyway, google is king!!!
It's just that Yahoo has a very different way of ranking the sites. As we pay too much attention to what Big G is saying and doing Yahoo usually gets the second chair. This might be a reason for the fall in the rankings.
There are many reason behind that like spamming, duplicate contents, not quality back links and many more. If you want to increase the page rank then you have to write the quality contents and create many quality back links and don't do spamming.
