Reason for lowered page rank/search engine ranking?

One of my blogs has gone from a PR3 to a PR0 and hasn't been ranking as well as it use to for keywords. What could be some possible reasons for this?

Here is what I have done that is different in between updates:

Link exchanges (before, there were no outbound links)
    Haven't been updating as often
Placed a link to the site in my DP sig
Purchased blog posts on blog networks seen on DP (ex: blog post on 125 blogs for $10, or similar deal seen in the link sales forum)

What do you think is causing the most harm? Link exchanges?

I would have to review the site, the main reason sites lose Pagerank and search results positioning is due to the fact that your competitors are kicking your butt! You most likely loss more backlinks then you gained, or the backlinks you gained are of lower quality than the ones you lost. Continue to build unique quality content and get quality backlinks to your site.

Not really, Google is made up for many different data centers and they aren't always updated at the same time, so you can see conflicting results depending on which data center you are on.
