check this http://ahrefs.com/site-explorer/overview/prefix/http%253A%252F%252Fwww.flamingolandrentals.co.uk%252F and see all errors
Thanks Now I am more confused, many of the errors it states are from my titles being to long, but the titles it displays aren't the same as the ones that are actually on the site when you view the page source. Just one example, is this page: flamingolandrentals.co.uk/Realtor/106.html It says the title is Flamingoland Rentals - Flamingoland Caravans For Hire - Michelle Hadaway But if you view the actual source code for that page you will see it is not, the title is: <title>Flamingoland Caravan Owner - Michelle Hadaway</title> Any ideas why this is?
I maybe wrong but the only think I can think of that makes any sense is that that site is viewing a cached version of the site, because the titles it is showing is how they used to be when the site had site wide titles, but I changed that must be over 6 months ago.
Clues for poor ranking are usually found on your actual webpage... Try this Google: Control Panel Flamingo Land, and see what happens. Having the term 'control panel' on your site might be a bit too technology specific? Cant you keep it generic, try: My Account? You have text written very similarly to many of your competitors websites, like "caravans for hire at Flamingoland Theme Park and Zoo". Try refreshing your content a little... Also many of your competitors offer 'Free Entry' to the above mentioned Zoo or Parks. You may think that offering free entry to those parks is not important but consider how many people Google "Zoo Free Entry" or "Free Theme Park Entry". If already offer this then say it on your site, if you don't want to offer it, then you can consider mentioning "you can freely access the park" or something like that will be helpful?
Hi It says owner control panel because only owners can login, even with it as clear as it is I still have had visitors saying they have tried to login. Also can you let me know which sites you have seen offering free entry to the theme park or Zoo? No one should be allowed to offer this as on arrival at the park you need to pay park entry, you need to pay this directly to the park. Unless you are referring to the park itself flamingoland.co.uk ? Due to the nature of the sites (mine and my competitors) you are going to have very similar wording in many areas, because the holiday park is called Flamingoland Theme Park and Zoo and what we are offering is caravans for hire there. My wording is completely my own, and perfectly describes the site but of you have any other suggestions
Hi Dee, Simple really; Google Flamingo Land Free Entry To The Theme Park And Zoo, and almost the entire first page results are all pages competing with yours (& higher ranking too) for your chosen keyword Flamingo Land. They are all offering something free, because people Google 'free' with 'flamingo land' a lot... Therefore your page isent as relevant as theirs are, and so your page takes a ranking hit... And about refreshing your content; again, just Google my quote I gave you off your site from my first post and you will see, I see the top three or four pages in those search results (your competitors) have 'your own words' in a single sentence, you need to split that sentence up... refresh your content a little. Lastly; Google control panel, that is a very 'tech related' word, not suitable for holiday sites... Now Control Panel Flamingo Land (as I said in my first post), you will notice your own site right at the top, meaning you are the only one using that word, now keep looking further down the results, 'spy' forums and even the odd tragedy too. Google uses each word on your site to create a relationship with the world, Google is just a big computer and the internet is all it knows, every word you say on your site makes a difference and creates a relationship with the content it matches. Hope this helps... (=
Hi Well I have changed the paragraph of text on the right slightly, I have page one ranking for other keywords so don't want to change it totally. Do you think I need some more regular text on that page? I mean besides the actual listings themselves? I searched the term with free in and those are what we refer to as tourist sites hense why they have 3 for 2 vouchers, I doubt they would allow me to do that It would seem your results differ to mine, I searched control panel flamingoland and I am not even on the first page. The question that keeps coming back to me is the listing titles, the owners tend to put Flamingoland in their listing title,( so like flamingoland caravan - 001) do you think the keyword flamingoland appears too many times on the homepage? I was focusing on the fact the keyword density for that keyword is still under 3%, even though the word appears a lot. Thank you for your help, much appreciated
