    Hmmm.. Where to start -

Ive been using some scripts in a few of sites.. nothing major - little biz directory scripts. So here is the deal:

My .com or my actual .html file for my home page is optimized great. But there is another home page index.php -- This is awful and it appears that I have 2 home pages. What is the correct thing to do here?

    MUCH THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There should be only one homepage, without the index.php.

Nope, the index.php has a totally different title tag -- google is crawling both . And when you look at the site through a SE viewer.. its 2 different sets of meta.

What I'm saying is that you don't want both.

You want one that is your .com -- without a filename and extension attached.

Then, for whatever content is on your index.php, you should rename that to be a different page of your site, using a key phrase instead of 'index.php'.

The 'index' part is only useful to tell search engines that it is where they should start.

What you probably have is an index.html and an index.php. You don't want both. You only want to use one.
