Hello, I have a nightlife domain name. I want to use some kind of blogger. I am planning to use wordpress but not sure if it'll work for me. Let me tell you what I want to do and then you can advice me on how about I should go doing it. I want to be able to have a website where there are posts (i.e. blog). But these posts would be submissions for party details. (Time:, Where: etc). The calendar can't be retroactive. If we're in march, i would like to see calendars available for april, may, june, july, etc. because thats the only way the site will work! A nice section to display photos as well. May be user submitted photos, maybe. On the right hand side I want a calendar (i.e.blog). where the visitors can click on a date and see what parties are going on. I want the whole website to feel like a blog more so than just a website like clubplanet.com. I want it simple but efficient. I want to have links for different cities. Will word press do this? Will another blog platform be better? should i just not do a blog for this idea?? I am so new..I dont even konw how to upload a new custom theme if i find one that suites my needs. can I just upload it to xxxxx.wordpress.com or do i need my own hosting? I am lost, any help or guidance!!!!!!! Thanks in advance
you can always use wordpress, just edit the time stamps on your blog posts so that they post for future days. Good luck
What's the domain? I may be able to be of assistance. The first thing that I will tell you is...it is very time consuming updating a calender of events everyday. You have to decide what the cut off point will be, and what region you are going to target. Getting club owners to cooperate and participate, and be on time with their events is a whooooole 'nother thing too. Many times you don't get updates until the last minute User submitted photos is a great idea, but not until you have built a community and have a lot of traffic. You definitely want to use wordpress, (with your own hosting) I do something in that realm, (check sig).
