I have a really low CTR. (0.1 currently) and I read some articles, found on Google and here, about raising your CTR, they don't seem to work. At least the ones I've seen, and used on my site. In fact, it lowered my CTR. I was at 0.3 before I made the adjustments on my site. Any suggestions on how to raise it? And since the site that I make the most out of is my arcade site, is it normal for it to be this low?
change it back to what it was before. when testing, you want to do 1 change at a time and give it a few days. if you do too much you will not be able to track it and figure out why it didnt work. not what... why. there is a psychology to ad placement. get into your visitors heads. lol. if you wouldnt click on it why should they? as for whether its normal for your arcade site. nobody can answer that but you. is it normal? the number of ads you have on a page will directly influence your ctr. im assuming you use ad targetting to get more than the 10 cents per click of arcade ads; as a test, you could switch your ads to be contextual and really match up and see what happens with your ctr. it could just be that your visitors dont want to see unrelated ads or are not fooled by ad placement. try different colors, positions, layouts. test test test (1 at a time). of course, i dont know your site, not accusing you of anything. just offering my opinion based on the so many arcade sites we have seen targetting totally unrelated topics and blending to make it look like it links to a game or something. jmo
At first I didn't do any targeting, and since that didn't do too well. That was when I started doing better, and getting about $3-5 per day. That was when I wanted to raise my CTR also after I've seen it so low. Thanks for the information. Tomarrow I'm going to change it back. And if it's still not better, I'm going to try another placement, and take off an add block from the navigation. I've changed my colors to look nicer earlier this morning. It seems like I'm getting better results. I get around 9-20 cents per click.
my ctr has been up around the 4-5% range, which is actually kind of low for me..I used to average (in November of 06) around 10% ctr...
I get around 10 clicks if I don't advertise, and a lot more if I advertise on adengage or adbrite. D16man, at least yout CTR is actually a whole number.
I just checked my CTR, and it's back up to 0.3. I guess it's stuck their. I'll just get what I can get,
