Hey, I do not post all that often, and if this comes across as "stupid", "meaningless", or "annoying" I do apologize. However I have been reading a lot of the threads and it's apparent that quite a few of you guys really know what you're doing so I figured why not at least ask. That said, here is my scenario: At the end of last November I launched a political/news site www dot HyerStandard dot com. Since then I have made a steady increase in regards to my Alexa rankings and have achieved a PR of 4 (even though I realize a lot of people view that as meaningless.) Also I have been credentialed to the DNCC in Denver this summer along with getting set up with blogads.com and a slow but steady stream of advertisers (1 or 2 a week). My question is how would I --if at all possible-- go about acquiring say a sponsorship type deal, which would allow me to focus my full time attention on the expansion and development of my site? Is this common, uncommon, situational? What kind of figures do sponsors (if even possible) bring in? And judging from where I currently sit with the site what do you think I should do regarding locking up adequate funding to keep this going full time? Do people invest in sites like mine, and if so how or where would I go about looking into that option? I am sure you can tell from the banter of questions I am throwing out there I am pretty much green as grass when it comes to the business aspect of a full time, legitimate web site, in my case, dealing with news/politics/ and other current events. Any help, advice, or leads you guys can toss my way would be amazing. I have no problem with the writing and maintenance/upkeep of the site, I just need to somehow, someway, sure up funds so I can focus all my time on the site while still being able to maintain the basic food and drink aspects of life, ha ha. I have no doubt that with the right help, and path I can grow this to what I envision it to be, it's just the short term which I am worried about covering. Thanks a ton in advance, and again, if this comes of as obnoxiously amateur or annoying I apologize. ~Matt
