Really bad SERPS in Bing - why?!

Hi my website comparebookies.com is actually doing quite well with serps with both Google and Yahoo but is really suffering with Bing.

Ie. In UK I am no3 on Yahoo for "bookies" and no5 on Google. On bing however the site is nowhere to be seen!

Of course I really want to get this sorted out and was hoping someone on here could point me in the right diection!

Thanks for any responses in advance!

Took me ages to start to get decent results on MSN (now Bing), I think IMHO they must take longer to trust you.

I got decent results in Google and Yahoo years ago but only in the past year or two did I get results from Microsofts sites.

The site has been online for nearly 2 years - the strage thing is it ranked better when it was newer on MSN!

That's strange then. How long has been lower ranked and did you do anything untoward prior to the drop?

Like maybe link to somewhere, that perhaps affected you. Or maybe change your title or description or remove any pages/content?

Not that I am aware of but it seems as though I must have! I never get a hit from bing but get 100+ though Google/yahoo.

Well you have to bare in mind Google has circa 80% market share in most places (and in most cases) when it comes to search (unless you are in China where Baidu dominates).

What's the timeframe on the ranking drop?

Very strange. My very new site with no content is on the first page for a major keyword and #1 for the related keywords. And when I say no content, there is a "under construction" on the homepage !!

Is that for something related to the domin name?

Not that I have not had a simlilar exerience to! The same thing has happened to me on more than one occasion. Just wondering if your domain name matched the search term?

    Yes actually.
The site I'm doing is 1capecoral.com
As you can see there is nothing on the homepage, except the tracking icon.
Today, I saw a unique from Bing with the keywords " Cape Coral ". I thought it would be amazing to be seen with those terms. In fact, it will be a real estate site, so I want to SERP "Cape Coral real estate " instead of " Cape Coral ".
Of course, when I click on the Bing link, I see the site at 4-5th position but also #1 for Cape Coral Real Estate.
I also investigate a bit deeper and launched a new browser, googled "bing", got there and insert "Cape Coral" in the search bar. Guess what, A completely other page with other sites, NOT including mine...

Getting better ranking at Bing is not a big game. I haven't done anything special for getting my website ranked at top position. Well, you may need more backlinks and add content, submit your website at Bing may be this will help you.

@harrysmith - The site is already online from all accounts - so why would Codythebest need to submit it to Bing? That is not something that is needed these days dude! There are these little softwares called "spiders" that crawl and find links!

    Codythebest

I usually get my sites listed on Google/Bing/Yahoo etc by posting about them on my PR4 forum.

How about giving this a go. Post a thread on said forum (its the last word in my sig) asking for advice (in the SEO forum) mentioning your site then in the first reply I will stick in an anchor text link with the search term and you may find the post/thread and your site end up riding on each other in the SERPS.

I would say post your link in the first post in the thread, but unforunately, thanks to spammers a member needs to make 15 posts befor they can post links. Sign up is also a little complicated again thanks to spammers and bots but if you use the same username I will verify you as soon as I spot you have joined.

It is at least worth a try!

I never submit my sites to the SE's and just use my forum to get them found. You can even watch Googlebot Yahoo Slurp, MSN and Ask etc spider here > http://tvworlds.com/forum/online.php as I post there are 2 yahoo slurps and an msn bot on the site right now. Google will be along in a while as I am going to make a post soon.

Bing is really slow at indexing and ranking a website, you will have to wait.

Done. I could get in. I posted there with specific keywords. Let's see how it goes.
While the homepage is PR4, the forum and the thread page are N/A

PR is meaningless to me Cody as I don't do any linking outside my own network of sites, so I pretty much ignore PR as only want people to find my sites from my page 1 rankings. I have never accepted any of the many link exchange requests I have had for my sites.

The site has many page 1 SERPS though!

I know many would say that not linking and not submitting my links on sites is madness but that's just the way I choose to do things.

I have so many page 1 SERPS and spend so much time producing content for my sites I prefer to let any link buiklding take care of it's self and just let it happen naturally.
