I don't believe in creating only one blog. A good strategy would be to create a personal cum marketing blog, where you talk about the internet, online opportunities available, etc. Think of your marketing blog as a good platform to "advertise" yourself, a CV or resume of sorts - this is where strangers can get a feel of the person you are. Don't write formal articles in the main page of the blog, keep it conversational, etc. See shoemoney.com for example, or problogger.net. The blog that you make money on tends to be focused on a niche product or service. In problogger.net for example, I recall reading somewhere on this forum that if he made enough money on that blog, he would stop all his other blogs (something along those lines) - he maintains other blogs such as on cameras, printers, etc - my guess is that it's those blogs that make him money. See shoeblogs.com - very conversational, very "colourful", but more importantly, focused on shoe products. I'd maintained a blog on the Nikon D200 Digital SLR camera - I don't mind telling you that in the good days, I easily pull in $10 from Chitika plus Adsense. Not anymore though - the site has been deindexed in Google (probably coz I did some other naughty things on subdomains that Google didn't like, so the whole domain got deindexed) - but I still get MSN and Yahoo traffic, so I still pull in $3/day. I can get more by continually updating the blog, but I've put it aside now for other, higher priorities. How did I drive traffic? From my participation in photography forums - with links in my forum posts - if you're popular in forums that are of a very large size, it's guaranteed that you get large numbers of daily visitors. And then, people will link to you naturally when they discover that your product blog is a great source of tips and tricks, and when that happens, the search engines will rank you highly for lower competition keywords relating to that product. It so happened that photography was my passion, and I could monetize it. If Internet Marketing is your passion, you have a tough challenge ahead. But even in my case, it's not possible to earn $300/day just with a single passion - I must expand my horizons, creating more product blogs, in order to reach my objective. You must discover your own path, however. All the best! PS. liewcf.com is a very popular Malaysian tech blog - check it out, post comment on his blog, find other malaysian bloggers with similar interests, post valuable comments on their blog, and click-through traffic will arrive at your blog to decide whether it's worth bookmarking PPS. Read everything in (http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=52564) - see how he managed to get 200 other webmasters to link to his newly created tech news / forum site - I learnt a lot from there.
Sorry for late replies I was asleep ... Thank you all for these great tips. I shall see the day when we all are pro bloggers on our own terms.. as for me I have a one biggest drawback of all which is I dont have internet connection at home LOL ironically... My life is the internet.. reminds me most great people starts virtually with nothing.. Anyway.. God Bless you all good men and women out there who are willing to help me by giving good tips.. Here's my appreaciation to all within this thread... For those who "needs help" aka Low Traffic Sites with their "senses" smaller than $1.00 p/day 1. Give me your website I will visit them (allow me to visit them on timely basis) 2. If you got any forum I will join 3. Want me to submit articles I am ready but give me time.. 4. If you want me be a user of your sites I am ever willing to provides ideas, opions etc.... 5. Any good and honest blogger who lack of aspiring ideas etc (for example only) or whatsoever ... I allow you to copy my ideas on my sites do what you like ... but do rework them first as my ideas some are "unbalanced" at the moment since I dont have time to "expand" them yet.... I hope via cooperation we all can undercomes 1. Low Traffic 2. Increases Readership or site visits Because the rule of the game is simple... Internet is all about sharing... which can be sharing ideas... sharing dreams.... the rest is up to your imagination.. in which can be very useful. Think of this. aight? Just my appreaciation and gratitudes FOR ALL. TradezMark.
.. last word, dont think (and I am not saying implicitly nor explicitly) of sharing "something else" . I just wanna get honest and good traffic that's all .. if I can get 10 people .. and 3 of them is respective regular site visitors.. that would sufficient to make me blog and blog .. and blog. I still have my faith in good people and at the same time hopefully giving me the reasons to keep on moving on.. i.e blogging
Mr Will.Spencer. ... are you the one from EzineArticle.com and Enterprenuer Support? Just asking. If you are, Sir.. I am a fan of your articles
... Thanks what a very thoughtful ideas. I thank you for this help. You got site? if you dont wanna reveal it here you can always email me (by knowing where to find my mail). Again, Thanks for all.. If will all are united publishers and as a user for each sites involves.. (staying united in each other readership) something residual may be monthly... because inadvertly we may help pull each other traffics..
no, i seriously don't think you should do that. the traffic you'd get from malaysians will not be enough, than you would have if you get visitors from around the world. your blog has a global appeal, and you want people everywhere to come visit your site. maybe you can do a little bit of malaysian talk in it, but don't overdo it or you'll kill the professionalism of the site. how old are you? i'm 18. if you're interested, alex mandossian and armand morin will be at PJ Hilton Hotel this coming May. you might get a few excellent tips from them. be warned though, the price does not come cheap.
More traffic man...how do you possibly even think of making any money with 3 visitors a day? Are you sure you have a website?
I am 26 (i go to college late since I dont have financial priviledge to go early.. so i am in middle of college something like that). . PJ Hilton where? Kuching? Miri? Kuala Lumpur? or Out of Pasture ?
How can you seo your site without a keyword phrase? Whatever it is it should be in the title. Whatever you do don't stop posting. That seems to be your only strength and probably the only way you will get your traffic. The only problem is getting your blog crawled fully. Using other people's articles won't help you much because of the duplicate page penalty. Unless your site has a good ranking most people won't ever see those articles in the search engine. I use ezinearticles solely if they provide real value to my visitors (I have niche). If you make a table aligned to the right and put in 3 links made to look like google ads (without putting the words ads by google) in blue and one google ad at the top (or second from the top) then make the ad green while all the other links are blue more people will click the ad. Example (in a right aligned box at the top of the content): Business Cards for $14.99 You can buy business cards here with us ads by google Buy my Business Cards You can buy business cards here with us ads by google Come on by my Business Cards You can buy business cards here with us Please by my Business Cards You can buy business cards here with us You make the ad look like it's special in some way and it catches your eye (I even put bullets by mine). It's a safe way to improve your ctr because people will read the words before they click. This is called the James Briggs method. P.S. the bullets aren't really bullets they are images made to look like bullets to line up with the ads
take a plane then. i think this is a great way to improve CTR, though i've never tried it. makes sense. YoungSmegol is right, don't stop posting now.
YoungSmeagol - A very deep knock on my head for this tips. I will bring this home and considers it, seriously. You almost share my essence.
Thanks I edited like five times lol because I kept forgeting stuff. Don't forget the bullets (optional). I also changed the color to red because this forum has a lot of green in it and I wanted the ad to Pop.
Didnt read everything here, but one of the best way to drive traffic to your website is to participate in forums (especially those high traffic ones), once you reach a certain reputation there, you be able to just pop a post about this great site you seen. and wow !!, you get a big traffic boost. and if someone in the forum with a blog that likes your post, he will then blog about your site/post, then boom, more traffic ! heh.
