Real world application of idea

I just posted an article on my personal blog, suggesting an idea. I really don't want to post the whole thing in here as well, as i think that's a little silly. But it has to do with increasing web page view time, and increasing "sell" off the page.

I quote the sell, because the term can mean various things depending on the web site and the content goal. You might want a page/link click, you might want email address, you might want to sell the laser printer. Doesn't matter. What matters is that the visitor responds.

Part of the response factor is getting the visitor to read what you want them to do. If they never read your content, chances are you won't get the sell.

I know I might be reaching with tying in the three studies I have there together, and coming out with a theory, but the theory has already perked in me a couple of ideas, that I'll be trying out on various pages. My ideas are strictly based around putting in a small graphic near content I want read, which doesn't "add up".

I was wondering if the creative marketing brains around here might spark other ideas from the article.
