Real Problems with Impressions

    Hello, Guys.

Since Google update Adwords to a new interface, my account is losing impressions all the time. The impression share is also dropping but there are no any reasons for it. So getting Lost IS for rank, budget looks normally.

I am interested in Impression Share for Google Search only. Campaign settings are switch on to accelerated impressions of ads. Average position and max CPC didn’t change. All ads are approved and QS is too high.

Of course it could happen because of dropping CTR or great amount of keywords with broad type but it was too sudden and without any preconditions from our side.

Is this normal at all? Did you meet with the same problems?
Please, explain if you know something about Adwords strategy changes. Maybe unusual innovations in its tactics were somewhere missed )

    Thanks. Appreciate your help.

Could it be simply because your product is seasonal in nature? If there are less impressions, and you haven't changed anything, there may simply be less people searching for your keywords.

You do mention having many broad type keywords and that it was sudden. It could be that Google has improved their algo and you are getting less impressions this way. This could be a good thing for you with more relevant and quality impressions.

Your CTR dropping would of course not affect the number of people searching your keywords. It might affect your position, dropping to the second page which would reduce your impressions. But you say there is no change in position.

Try Standard: show ads evenly over time instead of Accelerated. If you are using Automatic bidding, you may want to try Manual instead. But basically, if people are searching less often, not much you can do about it.

    Thanks greatly for reply)

Indeed, my product’s nature isn’t seasonal. That’s why I am worried about this dropping after longtime increasing of traffic. Since any limits for budget are absent I am interested in getting it as much as possible.

    Automatic bidding isn’t used…

I also thought about improving their algo. Do you know any details about it? I have already found many different theories but it’s not proved any exact facts or official explanations (with exact match type:) )

What do you mean suggesting Standard method? Is it possible to increase impressions showing ads evenly over time?

I don't know anything about their algo. I'm no insider. Google does improve and update their software all the time.

I'm just guessing as for accelerated vs standard. It probably won't make any difference. It jumped out at me when you mentioned it. I always use standard. In fact, I recommend all settings where you have more control than letting Google make decisions for you.
