Forgive what may seem like a rookie question as I'm just starting out but should I use my real name for all blogs? I did a Google search before asking here and most people seem to think it's a good idea. Then again, they also strike me as the kind of people who only have one or two blogs and don't do it as much for the advertising. Thank you,
Would you buy a household cleaner branded by Hershey's? Carpet cleaner branded by Scott's (lawn care)? Think of your name as a brand. You can typically build a stronger brand name on the internet by limiting use of your name to a single niche. You can always use pen names for other niches. BTW, you could have put this in the blogging forum.
I would not use my real name. Too risky is someone want's to take a peek at your personal or financial records.
I like blog names with at least one keyword in them. If you had a really popular name, then yeah, but those domains will be taken. for example Jacob.com or something
