    Guys (and Ladies)
We just recently launched a website and wonder if there is any interest in following us the first couple of months? I've have seen posts on here in the past similar to this but related more towards affiliate marketing and often times, at the end, they offer some ebook or something for sale.

We have launched a news website and of course we're trying to generate traffic. We are thinking we can set a goal of 100k visitors in the first 30-60 days and then we'd update here regularly to let everyone know how we're doing. You could learn with us  By the way, if there is somewhere else I should be posting this, let me know.

We recently launched a free classified ad section on our site so of course we would try to get traffic for that as well. So if there is interest we'll do it. If not, we won't. If 10 people respond to this thread by the end of today, we'll do it. If not, then well, plan B I guess...whatever that is...

In that it can take 2 or 3 weeks to get listed, 100,000 visitors/mo is pretty ambitious in 60 days unless you are going with a well funded PPC model.

DO you have a marketing plan? Remember that there are a lot of news sites out there, and most people are going to go with the bid dogs they already know. This said, you have to make sure that you are supplying your visitors with QUALITY and accurate news information.

BTW; How are you getting your news content?

Well, I'm always interested in reading case studies. There is definitely benefits from doing a public log. Not only will you be able to help others, but it is very likely that others will help you as well, kind of like a free advisory board. You have to keep in mind though that people don't have a vested interest, so you have to pick and choose what type of advice you will listen to.

Ok, I posted at 7:09 am. It's now 4:45pm and I've only gotten 4 responses...so it's not looking too good so far. yes the 100k visitors is ambitious but we might as well aim high. Maybe if there is someone with a lot more traffic that could give advice. We don't plan on spending any money on PPC. I agree we need quality content so we are trying to get users to sign-up to help post local news for us. We also are trying to network with local bloggers and get permission to repost some of their content. i know they say duplicate content hurts Google rank, but Im not a big fan of Google rank.
