Just recently recived my CD's from Ubuntu... You can get them here... http://www.ubuntulinux.org/ After trying out the Hoary Hedgehog version, cant wait for the Breezy Badger. Installation was easy and all hardware was detected straight away. They even ship you some CD's free and would rather ship more than 1... With over 15000 software packages in the repository....
The problem with the *nix OSes is not their quality. It's that the software most normal users want to use is for Windows.
Thats the thing, Ubuntu is quite easy to use out of all the distros, and you can use Word files and stuff and can do most of the stuff you can do with Windows (and alot more). Its just that I havent used Linux for a couple of years and the last one I tried was Red Hat 8 i think. Since then things have come a long way and everything is looking sweet... havent tried any BSD distros, but i know i will soon, its becoming quite popular.
