I wrote an article that you might find useful; it's about whether to build a site for adsense (or other advertising network). The short answer is no, build it for visitors. Good luck.
I think that's the thing. These sites are generic and random. People who make them are going for bulk quantity over quality. If they have, say, 2000 of them, and each only makes .50-cents a day, that's still $1000/day, etc. The problem with newcomers trying this is that they don't have the quantity to make the money, which, of course, costs money to buy and make that many worthless sites and link them together for traffic, etc.
Anyone fancy trying one out and reporting back - or are we all too proud? I have to admit I would give it a go from the scientific perspective but I think my red dots would multiply if I confessed.
They sell them on ebay. They obviously dont work due to: google dup content penalty not easy to promote no repeat visitors there are lots on the web but you never see them because SEs just don't rank em. Don't get involved. Notting
I wouldn't do it. I honestly think the best way to make money (in any way, shape or form), is to work hard at it. I also feel that if you're going to make Adsense work for you, write original content (okay, I have a couple of freebie articles, but the majority are my own work), and concentrate on getting visitors to your site. If you have a good site, with unique content then hopefully the visitors will follow. My main focus is on making the site interesting to my visitors, the Adsense is just a nice bonus. If Adsense stopped tomorrow, the site would continue on, and I wouldn't change my methods in any way. I think some people (not having a go at anybody here), want to become rich from Adsense without the hard slog involved in setting up & maintaining a site which is attractive to the general public.
I have managed to get hold of a joomla article site - chancetolearn.com for experiment purposes, and I have installed a few of these article packages into it, will kindly report to the forum anything that's of interest. Current status: Some packages installed, google sitemap submitted, site crawled, adsense codes installed, no traffic whatsoever, hence 0 income. My next ploy is to play with XML feeds as these MFA article sites do and see if any traffic comes in this way. Please note, I do plan to shut this site down next year so this really is an experiment. I also plan to spend maximum one hour per day on this, so 7 hours per week maximum. I reckon that for 7 hours work I could make... maybe... 3 cents a week? This is not for me to make money as such, although that would be nice, its for a project I am working on at the moment, to see just how easy it is or isn't to use articles from other websites that are open source and stick them online.
well it's early days at the moment, and I have exceeded my hour today so I won't do any more until tomorrow. I honestly believe that I will make nothing from it and then I can complete all those testimonials on those sites selling adsense-ready scripts etc. With another site, i have already discovered the following, which some may find interesting: - i used the largest rectangle shape and the income for that site was OK - after a few months, the income dropped to a bare minimum, sometimes zero dollars, zero cents. - then I changed to the slightly smaller box and the income rose to almost what it was before. Could it be that firstly the ads had dried up in the first shape, all used up, all impressions and that the second format/shape that I tried had different ads available? Can this theory be possible? Otherwise perhaps another solution is that the advertisers ran into money again. Who knows. (the site I talk about is NOT the www.chancetolearn.com site)
