i know someone who has posted his a comment on a blog using no follow and after some time he tried to search for anchor text of his link( his name in the blog) to find that the blog he posted his name in ranked no 1 for his name ,so are you guys still think that no follow links are not useful ?

Still not useful to bring the juice to his site, no? basically he added the content to the high ranking site and they got indexed on the terms he added? While his site got nothing.

I'm not sure this proves nofollow is useful.

The text of his name, i.e. the link text, appeared in the blog which was indexed by Google, Yahoo etc. and so his name would be expected to make the blog appear in the search results.

If his name didn't appear in the linked site, i.e. the target of the nofollow link, and then the linked site appeared in the SERPs for his name, this would show that perhaps nofollow was not entirely ignored by search engines and was used to give some meaning to the linked page.
