Hi, I know this is duh! to most people and I am not so new anymore to websites, although still a newbie, but I am used to reading my stats from my website that has unique visitors, total visitors, and page views. So now with a newer website, it says pages and "hits" I assume pages is page views, so what is "hits". I thought that was the total number of page views, so what is the difference between pages and hits on this stats report. Thanks!
Funny I just started out myself and I was wondering the same thing the other day. Turns out hits on one page include images and content so a page with one image and one content i think would be two hits. Theres other stuff involved too hope this helps.
it is amazing to me after all these years how much the stats programs still suck. these types of stats don't tell you much and often only tell you the top 10 etc... you might want to look at an external script. I for one am in the process of creating my own.
Yeah, you should at least start to use Google analytics. Its free and gives you better stats than this program.
