Hello people! I just read a good thread about what you should do to start making money online. Let me tell you my story. Last year, I started reading about web monetizing, ebusiness and several blogs about making money online. During my first cuople month I only made about 1 - 2 $ A WEEK. I though I was never going to make money like John Chow does or Shoemaker does. But, you know what, I didnt really think about money while blogging, I just felt to share my knowledge and my point of view. I read about those Mesothelioma keywords and thats pure BS. How the heck you pretend to make money talking about you have absolutelly no idea about it. FORGET ABOUT HIGH PAYING KEYWORDS. BLOG ABOUT WHAT YOU REALLY KNOW ABOUT AND WHAT YOU ARE REALLY PASSIONATED ABOUT. Im just a teenager from Southamerica (im sorry for my grammar mistakes) To actually start making money you need to write about stuff you know about it and give your honest point of view. For example, You really hate Apple´s products for some reason, but at least you know why you hate Apple. Blogging is PASSION. Only after a couple months blogging you will start making a little of money. CONTENT IS KING. You will start making money after people keep reading your blog because the like what you write. Keep the good content always, if you dont have anything good to say, dont say it. For example Smashing Magazine, one of my favorite blogs, they dont post something everyday, they really develope their posts so they show really good content. There is absolutelly no need of posting everyday. But always keep writng quality stuff. If you have a high quality post there is no need of submiting to Directories or work your butt off SEOing. By the way I just started my new blog (CanCanBlog.com) It is about Web Promotion with innovative ideas. I hope it gives you some innovative ideas.
I'm with you, buddy. I've started blogging simply for passion alone, until I found all of these "horrible" monetising schemes.. almost fell over (and still), but I post because I want to, not because it will give a better click rate (although I don't mind at all) Started at the end of October, Got $2 in December from AdSense, and now $7 in January; and I'm already very happy (well, okay, don't mind if I can get more lol)
I dont think this is a good advice, you should make your blogs based on most searched keywords to obtain inmediate bulks of traffic
Good intention nicogarcia , and very sensible advices. The fact is, not everyone can be a good blogger. Only a few with a flair for writing and and ability to bring something fresh every time will end up having some traffic. Yeah, ofcourse the passion!
blogging is not the only way to make money... the thing is that bloggers post their income and achievements and that inspires. The thing that Internet is so huge that it opens great making money opportunities from HTML editor to blogger, online marketer etc.
This is very good blogs pays well for sure. If you have content rich websites ..that will help you more in earning $$$ rather then blogs
Thank you all for all your a nice comments. Those kind of things motivates you to keep blogging everyday. Now, imagine this, you have Feed Reader, like Netvibes, Google Reader, whatever, then you read everyday your favorite blogs about what you enjoy reading, for example, I love reading about Technology, Internet, Gadgets and those geeky stuff, now I create my blog where I just comment about my favorite gadgets, the newest products in the market and also write what I feel... I dont think thats a job and you will can get payed really well if you are consistent.
Thank you mysticenigma! I dont dubt you will make money blogging about higher paying keywords, but.. i dont know how long you will last blogging about something you dont enjoy reading and writing about.
