Re-using content

    If you own a site and the content on it is yours and you want to start fresh and create a new site. Will it affect your new site if you use that content event though it is no longer published on the other site

    I honestly don't know...Although I don't think it would have that much of a negative effect. Was that specific content google indexed. If it was, I would imagine the "freshness" rating would decrease...

    Once again all just speculation. don't quote me on this...

    You can do it, just make sure the content in the other site is de indexed using robots, or better, create a 301 direct from the content of the old site to the new one. In this way, the new one will have the rankings of the old one.

    I think you should wait til the original site is not yet index because your site might get caught because the original might still be found in Google index.
