Re-Design My Header and make up to $70: $30 (header) + $10 per icon.

Type of Contest : header redesign - modernize an existing header & make it look "2.0"

Winner(s) are likely to get another job immediately if we agree on the terms.

Prize: $30.00 PAYPAL for the header plus $10 for each accepted icon idea (please look below for the job description)
NOTE: You may submit a each idea (header and/or icons) as separate entries

Contest End Date & Time: aiming for a week from now unless something amazing comes along earlier

Size Requirements: please preserve the width of the original, the height may be smaller - vector preferred, but psd will do - layeres must preserved

Color Requirements: please try to stay within the red/burgundy/gray/black combination, but I'll take any good idea into consideration

Banner: Looking to incorporate the banner more into the header design - I don't like it just floating in the "air". Please try to establish some sort of a background or other enclosure for the space containing the logo, banner and the log-in line at the top (the login should stand out more, perhaps in its own box... just a suggestion - if I new want I wanted, i'd do it myself )

Top Line of the Menu: Buttons and Icons: I am keeping only the Home and Acting icons - all others need to be redesigned with some major creativity. The only requirement I have is that the new icons are "boxy" looking, just like Home and Acting. The following categories need icons: DANCE, MODELING, MUSIC, INDUSTRY (the entertainment industry)EACH ACCEPTED ICON WILL EARN $10 IN ADDITION TO THE $30 FOR THE HEADER

Middle Line of the Menu: I am actually very happy with that one, so unless it completely would not go with your idea of the design, you can leave it the way it is

Bottom Line of the Menu: The Navigation Bar: It's also ok by me, but the colors need to change in order to make it clear and easy to read

Logo: Logo remains the way it is, but the colors, position and size are up to you (unless, of course you blow me away with your own idea for a logo - I am open to anything)

Other Comments: About to launch a completely recoded website and I think that during the 2 years it's taken to program, the header ... has lost its appeal and desperately needs to assume a newer look. I have my thoughts and ideas about the changes, but I will not say anything until I see a few entries. I just do not want to influence anyone's creativity.

Entries: All entries must be posted within this thread - please do not PM me unless you absolutely have to. I reserve the right to distribute the payments to different contestants. For examle, I may pay someone $30 for the header idea, but not accept his/her icons and instead pay the next person the additional $10 per icon.

designerboy - thanks for the entry, however if you are trying to work on the logo/banner line, as stated in the description, I am looking to see how this part could be tied in with the rest of the header (the menu buttons and lines). So far it's not making me say "wow"..

pat3ck - what makes these icons so hard to figure out is that they must apply to both females and males. I think i'd like to see a "symbol" rather than a "person" representing each category and I am going to update the job description with that thought. thanks for trying though!

pat3ck- you picked the only thing that was on my mind as an option here and you've pretty much confirmed that a camera will work for this category just fine So if you can come up with one that is less 3D (but not old fashioned) in order to match the HOME and ACTING categories, the $10 is yours Also, I'll need a psd of this since it will be used on different color backgrounds for the mouseover effect. Thanks!

pat3ck - thanks again for a great entry! The music ones are not exactly what i am looking for though. You don't have to experiment with colors and instead stay with the grays With the mouseover effect that is going used for these buttons, it is the safest choice. Something more "boxy" but not a radio, or a speaker Aim at the entire industry including classical music, production fascilities, recording studios, venues... all that with one symbol

Duff100 - music notes where one of my first tries here, but i am looking for something more modern. Thanks for entering though!

pat3ck - no people, symbols only It would be great for ballroom, but there are so many more dance styles and I am trying not to limit myself to anything in particular (them dancers get very sensitive ) I really appreciate the high quality of your work!

freekazoid - I do not understand your entries. Your DANCE button has no icon at all, and your first MUSIC icon is just a color version of what I already have... I am looking for new symbols representing each category, not for a way to decorate the existing ones. Thank for your entry though.
UPDATE: Your second MUSIC entry is much more creative but not what I am looking for
