Hi all, I'm looking advice on redesigning this website ( luna pic dot com ) It sorta grew out of nothing over the years and is now somewhat of mess. It's a little different than a normal content website though in that it's a app that many people use on a daily basis. It's very /functional/ and I don't want to break anything in the redesign. There are hundreds of functions on the site and it's a challenge to navigate and find the ones for you. Anyway, I'm looking for any advice on which direction I should go with it, color schemes, layouts or what sites it should be more like. I've tried a design contest in the past, but wasn't real happy with the results, So I'm not sure if I should find a hire a designer, or what. thanks!
I suggest you to go for some good looking awesome templates and edit them. They site will look perfect. Regards Pradeep
Do you have a budget for the rebuild? Are you bootstrapping? Can you post some of the design contest results that you didn't like, so we can learn more about your taste?
Well i think you should find a few designers and have some mockups done by them. Whom ever shows the best mockup in your opinion you should hire that guy..
Thanks for the advice. I had tried the contest a while back, but I wasn't that happy with the results. Designers I have talked to so far don't want to do mockups first. It's hard to pay for something before I know if I'll like it. Any templates or collections I should check out?
