Well, mine didn't cost too much when I bought them, roughly $250 each. But they have cost me double that in repair bills and upgrades.

The nitro powered ones are much more expensive but are more thrilling to fly.

Frequency doesn't have much to do with price as most radio systems cost the same wether they are based on the FM band or the new 2.4Ghz technology. It's mostly down to how many channels the radio supports and the complexity of the heli.

I bought ready to fly kits (RTF), Honey Bee King 2 and Copter-X 450 V2 and they cost about $500 in total. Each crash costs me about $15 for new parts. I haven't crashed for a while but I must admit I'm not doing any crazy stunts.

I managed to do my first loop today on my HK-450. But then my adrenaline started pumping and I thought I could do anything, end result is a trip to the Hobby store to buy new parts to repair it :(

I'm thinking of getting the smaller HK-250 to fly in the Warehouse at work as it's starting to get a bit windy here lately. The HK-250 seems like a decent little machine. Some info about it at http://bit.ly/4GhFUb
